Spring 2006 News
Spring 2006 Opening Day News
First of all we would like to welcome all of the new players to the CCFFL, and of course welcome back to all of the returnees. Hopefully everyone had fun on opening day.
As you may have noticed, an emergency came up at the beginning of the day, which forced me to have to leave the field and not return until the final game, Shawn was only able to be there off and on throughout the day as well. Due to our absence for most of the games, game highlights are not available. Please check back after next week's games for highlights to resume. On another note, we need to address some very important issues. During the captain's meeting we voiced concerns about how the flags and trash pickup is handled. We issued warnings and after week 1 we are forced to initiate a new rule regarding flags and trash. If you are reading this, and you are not a captain, please get a hold of your captain before next week's games and let them know the following!!!
NEW RULES REGARDING FLAGS AND TRASH PICKUP
FLAGS
Flags will be issued prior to each game to a team player. Each flag belt will be fastened together with 2 flags on it. 14-18 flagbelts will be issued to each team prior to the start of the game. Once the game is completed, and before the end of the 1st quarter of the next game, the flags must be returned to a league official in the same manner they were issued. Any team failing to return the flags in said manner will be penalized as follows. The team captain will be suspended from playing in the following week's game!!!
TRASH
Each team is responsible for picking up the trash in their designated area. Teams are responsible for not only picking up their player's trash, but their fans trash as well!!! The league reserves the right to determine where a team's area was, and if said area is left untidy, the following penalty will be assessed: The team captain will be suspended from playing in the following week's game!!!
We hate to have to be this way, but it is important that trash is picked up, and flags are turned in properly. Lost and mutilated flags leads to higher league fees. Trash left at the field could lead to having no field. Please note that the penalty assessed to the team will be to the captain, and we will not make any exceptions. Captains are ultimately responsible for their team.
PET REMINDER
Please remember that pets are not allowed at Carson City Parks or Schools. Please do not bring pets to the field, and pass the word on to your fans. Pets that are associated with the league, can lead to our loss of the field. Any player found to be associated with a pet at the field, will be ejected and asked to leave with the pet.
Week 3 Highlights
3 more shut-outs and a battle to remain undefeated were the themes in week 3.
Kicking off week 3 was shut out number one and a record tying finish by the Violators. The Violators tied The Feds for the league scoring record in a game, racking up 85 points against the Bobcats and allowing them 0. Violator quarterback Alfredo Arechiga threw for 189 yards and 5 touchdowns. Arechiga scored a 6th touchdown rushing. Receiver Scott Witter scored 2 TDS, and Adam Sollinger, Alex Martinez, and Ricardo Gutierrez each scored 1 TD receiving. Martinez and Sollinger also each scored a rushing touchdown. It was all Violators and their offense was unstoppable, as was their defense. Marco Martinez picked off 2 Bobcat passes running 1 back for TD. Jairo Obregon and Scott Witter also each picked off passes, and Adam Luis recovered a fumble and returned it for a TD. The Bobcats could not catch a break, but cornerback Dalton Crump did stop a Violator drive with an interception ran back for 49 yards.
The Blue Chips and The Feds were week 3's game 2, and both teams came in with a 2 and 0 record. But it was the Blue Chips who went home keeping undefeated status as they beat the Feds 35-14. Blue Chip receiver Bryan Buckner had to take the QB position in the absence of Bryan Tilton, and Buckner led the team to victory with an amazing 230 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns. Blue Chip's runningback Jason Jones rushed for 63 yards and a TD, giving the Blue Chips 293 total rushing yards and 5 touchdowns. Although the Feds were able to stop a passing game with Buckner only completing 4 of 16 passes, they could not contain the run. The Blue Chips defense was led by Adam Pruitt with 6 tackles and 1 deflection. Logan Lord had 4 tackles and a deflection. The Feds offense tried to answer the Blue Chips 5 scores, but were only able to find the endzone twice. Feds receivers Paul Harting and Emil Lovec both racked up over 100 yards each, but despite long drives were stopped short of scoring. Blue Chip Kyle Hanson caused the games only turnover catching an interception on the Feds 1 yard line.
Shut out number 2 came after X Factor and The Sinners and the Saints took the field for game 3. Once again success came on the ground as both teams combined threw for only 125 yards. But X Factor did not have to put the ball in the air to score 34 of their 40 points. X Factor's Sergio Godoy scored 2 touchdowns rushing and the games only passing touchdown with a 13 yard TD pass from QB Lee Robertson. Robertson also scored a rushing TD. A kick return for TD was another 6 for X Factor, and Calvin Wright put up 6 more after returning an interception. Defensively for X Factor Clint Dufocher led the field with 4 tackles, 3 sacks and a deflection. Wright also had impressive defensive numbers with 4 tackles, a deflection, and the pick. Although the Sinners and the Saints could not get anything going offensively, they did cause 2 turnovers on defense. Sinners Jeremy Joiner and Jason Allen each caught interceptions during the game. It was a 40-0 shut out victory for X Factor and a disappointing loss for The Sinners and the Saints who now sit 0 and 2.
The Demons kept themselves in undefeated status and posted the day's 3rd shut out with their 32-0 win over the Wookies. Again it was all about the rush with 4 out of 5 touchdowns being scored on the ground. Demon receiver Chris Butler scored the games only passing touchdown on a 26 yard pass from receiver Josh James. Butler also scored a rushing touchdown, and James scored 2 rushing touchdowns. The Wookies picked up some new players, and showed more life than they had in the past two weeks allowing only 32 points against them. Wookie QB C.J. Peterson threw for 103 yards, and defensively Bryan Coffee caught an interception for the team. But the Demons defense was too tough to handle causing Peterson to throw 5 picks in the game. Aaron Weber and Josh James each picked off Peterson twice, and Josh Triner picked off the QB once. Weber returned one INT for TD. The Demons held onto their 3 and 0 record, while the Wookies went home with the opposite 0 and 3.
AND FINALLY, A WORD ABOUT THE STATS...
I can honestly say that it's been a long while since we have had to deal with this, but here we go again. Recently some comments were made regarding stats and their accuracy. Although I will admit mistakes do get made, I can honestly say that it is a rare occasion when that happens!!! 9 out of 10 times when mistakes are made, it ends up not being the league's fault, hence players wearing the wrong number, numbers not being visible, etc. etc...
But again I will reiterate, we have been keeping league stats for 15 seasons!!! Every week, every game. We have records of every game that has ever been played in this league. We have no intentions of posting inaccurate stats, it would defeat the purpose of keeping them at all. I for one would not waste 26 Saturdays a year at the football field, and stand their all day watching games that mean nothing to me to post inaccurate stats. Again that would defeat the purpose of keeping them at all. You could eliminate stat keeping all together and everybody would know who the leaders are. It's obvious, everybody knows who the passing teams are and who the running teams are. Everyone also knows who the defensive leaders usually are. The stats reflect the leaders, like them or hate them, they speak for themselves. The Jeff Days, Emil Lovecs, Jacob Nordmans, Shawn Hudsons, Paul Hartings, Adam Pruits, Logan Lords, Ryan Marshs, Eric Browns, and many more. When you play them, you watch them, why, because they put up stats!!! It's not a secret these players remain consistent year after year, and not only do their stats reflect their personal achievements, but their team records reflect the same. The players that consistently put up the big stats, are the players that consistently play on teams that finish 9 and 1, and 8 and 2. Who do they lose to, each other. And when do other teams start beating these teams, when they add "stat leaders" to their rosters. I hope nobody will take offense to my comments, their are stat leaders on every team, and some players are too new to have built up a reputation, but I am merely trying to point out to those who criticize me, that the stats tell a story and it is a consistent and accurate one. If you are recruiting for your team, and you have pick of the league, I'm guessing your going to start at the top of the leader board and not the bottom. Yet their are always those who find themselves consistently low on the stat board that feel the need to comment. Although stats are not important to some, they are important to others. Football is a team sport, wins and losses are about the team, it generally takes 9 solid players to win, but stats are about the individual, and therefore they are the only way for some to gauge their own personal success. For those of you who say stats don't matter, I simply say then don't look at them. But the irony is, that it never fails that the people saying that they do not matter are usually people who do not get any or do not get "good" ones. I guess if I found myself on the bottom, I too might not think they matter, or I would try to find excuses for my own downfalls. Regardless of your personal opinion regarding stats, this league take stats for a reason, and we believe it is one of the things that makes our league better than the rest. You don't have to like them, or look at them, but we will continue to take them, and they will continue to be accurate, because for those that do like them, we want them to be right. Also, I challenge those that challenge the stats, as we have stated every year at the captain's meeting, you are welcome to have your own stat keeper, the only stipulation is that they must keep stats with the official stat keepers for obvious reasons. We have been doing this a long time, and we know the rules. We know what counts and what doesn't!!! It seems rather coincidental to me that we have always picked our all-star team off of statistics, although we no longer play an all-star game, it is interesting to me that in the early years when we did, our all-star team finished with 5 wins and 2 losses against the Stockton league all-stars. Pretty good for a bunch of made up stat leaders. I welcome your comments on this topic and will happily post them in the feedback column below.
And on a personal note, to the certain person that stated this week that it is impossible for a QB to have thrown for over 300 yards when they only scored 3 touchdowns. Please re-do your math, I would hate to sound like I know more about football then you do. 3 touchdown drives alone (all offensive), and all passing, and all starting around the 20 yard line equals 240 yards on those drives alone, now add the drives that didn't lead to scoring, and again remember you were playing a team that maybe runs 4 times in an entire game if that. You do the math!!! Again, sorry if I offended anyone, but I am human too, if you cast your stones, I'm going to cast mine back. The difference is, I can prove mine, film is a beautiful thing when your integrity is being questioned. But speculation normally just makes people sound ignorant.
NEW FEEDBACK ADDED, CHECK IT OUT AND ADD YOUR THOUGHTS!!!
3 teams still yet to score after 4 weeks of play, 1 team remains undefeated, and another loses their hopes of staying undefeated were week 4's highlights.
Returning from a week off were Scores, Scores took the field for game 1 and faced the winless and scoreless Wookies. This week's game did not change the Wookies luck as Scores sent them home with another shut out loss, winning 50-0. Scores quarterback, Jeff Day, threw 3 touchdowns in the game. Day completed a 50 yard TD to receiver Nick Medina, a 31 yard TD to receiver Anthony Powell, and an 18 yard TD to tight end, Eric Brown. Scores Runningback, Mikel Williams, rushed for an outstanding 173 yards and also scored 3 touchdowns. Defensively Scores caused 7 interceptions with Anthony Powell catching 3, Day got 2, and Medina and Williams each caught 1. Jason Silverhardt was also instrumental in Scores defense racking up 4 tackles, 4 sacks, and a deflection. It was all Scores as the Wookies could not get anything going neither offensively nor defensively. The now 0-4 Wookies will face The Violators in week 5, while the 2 and 1 Scores will face the 3 and 1 Feds.
Speaking of the Feds, they took the field for game 2 and faced the undefeated Demons. The Demons were not only undefeated entering into the week, but had not allowed an opponent to score. But the Feds quickly changed that as receiver/runningback, Javier Vega rushed in a 65 yard touchdown on the Feds first play of the game. Feds quarterback Shawn Hudson threw for 311 yards in the game and completed 2 touchdowns to receiver Paul Harting, 1 to receiver Emil Lovec, and 1 to tight end, Rory Sullivan. Fed's rookie, Jeff Smith, caused 2 INTS in the game and grabbed a tackle, while Jeremy Litka nabbed 3 sacks. Demon runningback Josh James kept his team from feeling the agony of a shutout by putting 6 points on the board with a 33 yard touchdown run. Demon Aaron Flynn picked off Hudson late in the fourth quarter, but the Demons were unable to capitalize off of the pick. The Feds beat the Demons 41-6.
The Blue Chips faced the Bobcats in game 3 and it was all Blue Chips. Chip's quarterback Bryan Tilton started the game off with a 63 yard TD pass to Adam Pruitt, and followed that up with 8 more. In addition to 9 TD passes, The Blue Chips also scored 2 rushing touchdowns, and 4 defensive touchdowns. All of the Blue Chips got in on the action with Tilton completing 4 TD passes total to Pruitt, 3 to Bryan Buckner, 2 to Logan Lord, and 1 to Maurice Townsell. Tilton rushed in a TD, and Jason Jones rushed in a 50 yard TD as well. The Bobcats were unable to stop the Blue Chips from doing whatever they wanted to offensively. Defense was not any different, as every time the Bobcats had the ball, The Blue Chips took it away. Bryan Buckner caught 3 INTS and ran 1 back for a TD, Logan Lord also caused a pick and ran it in for TD, Abner Lopez returned an INT for TD, and Joe Eckman caught an INT and pitched it to Kyle Hanson who then ran it in for another score. The Blue Chips shut out the Bobcats and earned the league's scoring record finishing with 124 points**.
**Although the Blue Chips have earned a new record and another victory, the score was officially recorded as 78-0 per the league's mercy rule. Due to the variations of experience levels this season, like the removal of the player of the week page, the league has been forced to re-instate the mercy rule, per (Rule 7-B Scoring Limits) in the rulebook. The Violators, who tied the league record in week 3 winning 85-0, were given their record for the week, but also fail victim to the newly instated rule and had their final score recorded as only 76-0. Please check out the rule, as in the future we will be calling the games when they reach 70+ points if a team is winning by 5 touchdowns.
The Violators met The Sinners and the Saints to close out the day. The Sinners/Saints came in to the game having scored 0 points, and although they came close to seeing the scoreboard, they were sent home by the Violators still scoreless. The Violators beat the winless team, 26-0. Violator quarterback, Alfredo Arechiga, completed 13 of 25 passes for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns. Catching 106 yards worth of Arechiga's passes and a TD was Receiver, Scott Witter. Marco Martinez scored the Violator's other passing TD, and Arechiga rushed in a third. Witter caught his team's 4th touchdown pass, but it was not from his QB, it was from the Sinners. Witter rushed 71 yards after picking off Sinners/Saints QB Zane Cole. Witter led the defense with 3 total INTS and a deflection. Cornerback Jairo Obregon had 5 tackles, 1 deflection, and an INT in the game as well. Sinners/Saints cornerback Austin Matthews gave his team 2 prime opportunities by picking off Arechiga twice, but the Sinners were unable to capitalize. Mathews also had 3 tackles and 2 deflections. Sinner Chris Fletcher also caused two turnovers with an INT and a fumble recovery, but again the team could not get into the zone. The 26-0 loss makes the Sinners and the Saints now 0 and 3, while the Violators boosted their record up to .500 with the win.
Week 5 Highlights
Hopefully everyone had a happy Easter. Due to the Holiday weekend the website was neglected, but now it is updated and I'll go ahead and write a few highlights from Saturday's games, but the news will have to resume in full force next week.
X Factor and the Demons faced off first, and X Factor quarterback Lee Robertson scored both of the games only touchdowns giving X Factor a 14-0 shut out victory over the Demons. Robertson rushed in a TD, and threw a 29 yard touchdown pass to receiver Matt Daggett. Rocky Batastini led the X Factor defense with 6 tackles. The Demons were unable to get anything going offensively. X Factor held the team to 84 yards. Demon, Matt Waugaman, led his defense with 4 tackles and an interception returned for 26 yards.
Scores met the Feds in game 2, and Scores scored another victory in yet another close one. The final score in the game was 26-20. Scores quarterback Jeff Day rushed in the teams first TD running 80 yards for the score. Day also completed 2 touchdown passes to Anthony Powell, and 1 to Mikel Williams. Powell racked up 97 yards in the game on 4 catches. Day and linebacker Eric Brown also caused turnovers in the game each picking off Feds QB, Shawn Hudson. Feds cornerbacks, Javier Vega and Jeff Smith also caused turnovers in the game each picking Day off once. Smith's pick gave the Feds a game tying opportunity, but the offense could not capitalize and Scores took home the win.
The Violators and The Wookies played game 3, and the Violators sent the Wookies home now the only team remaining who has not scored this season. Violator QB Alfredo Arechiga threw for 207 yards and 5 touchdowns. 3 TDS went to Alex Martinez, and 2 to Jairo Obregon giving the Violators a 36-0 shut out win. Wookies Matt Triplett and Jesse Carstairs each caught INTS in the game, but the turnovers did not lead to scores for the winless Wookies. Violator Ricardo Gutierrez led the Violator defense with 2 tackles and 3 sacks.
Game 4 pitted 2 new CCFFL teams against each other, and prior to kick off, neither team had won or scored this season. It was inevitable that one team would go home with their first win, and it was the Sinners and Saints who prevailed over the Bobcats. But although the Bobcats had to endure another loss, they scored a victory of their own, putting the first points on the score board of their season. Sinners/Saints QB Zane Cole threw for 118 yards and 5 touchdowns. Cole found receiver Jason Allen for 2 scores, and 1 TD each to T.J. Plummer, Danny Harlow, and Austin Matthews. Sinners/Saints running back, Jeremy Joiner rushed for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns in the game. The previously scoreless team racked up 46 points in the game, and held the Bobcats to only 6. Jeremy Davidson rushed in the Bobcats first TD of the season. The final score was 46-6 to the Sinners and the Saints.
Week 6 Highlights
Congratulations to the WOOKIES on their exciting 1st CCFFL victory!!! And speaking of the Wookies, is somebody missing a cell phone? If so, rest easy, I have it. See me Saturday to claim it, or if you want it sooner, email me, and we can make arrangements: CCFFL99@aol.com
The Violators and The Blue Chips kicked off week 6. The Blue Chips kept their hopes alive of finishing the season undefeated with a 30-0 shut out win. Blue Chip quarterback Bryan Tilton was absent for the game which caused receiver and back-up QB Bryan Buckner to have to fill in. Buckner had another great game rushing, finishing with 100 yards and a TD. Buckner also threw for 2 TDS and 211 yards, and late in the game he turned the QB job over to Adam Pruitt and received for 66 yards and another score thrown by Pruitt. Defensively Pruitt finished the game with 6 tackles, a sack, and a deflection, while teammate Logan Lord had 5 tackles, a deflection, and a pick. Ryan Marsh, Jason Hardin and Joe Eckman kept pressure on the Violators' QB, Alfredo Arechiga, all day long with Marsh posting 3 sacks in the game. The pressure got to Arechiga forcing him to throw 3 INTS, one each to Logan Lord, Abner Lopez, and Maurice Carter. Violator cornerback, Rolando Arechiga had a great game defensively with 3 tackles, 2 sacks, a deflection, and an Interception, but it just wasn't enough to stop the undefeated Blue Chips. The Blue Chips upped their record to 5 and 0, and sent the Violators home with a disappointing shut out loss bringing their record to 3 and 3.
The Feds faced The Bobcats for game 2, and like game 1, it ended in a shut out. The Feds held their opponent scoreless and racked up 69 points of their own. Feds QB Shawn Hudson in a rare performance threw the ball only 9 times in the game completing 8 passes for 256 yards and 6 TDS. Fed's receiver Emil Lovec caught 4 of Hudson's passes for 169 yards, 3 of which were for touchdown. Lovec also threw a touchdown pass in the game to receiver Jeff Smith. Smith caught 2 TDS in the game and finished with 88 yards. Defensively for the Feds, Jason Plaut led the field with 3 interceptions all returned for TDS. Smith also had a great game on defense with 2 INTS, 2 deflections, and a tackle. Fed DE, Vic Sam also was instrumental with 3 tackles, and 4 sacks. Bobcat Brian Rickman had the Bobcats game highlight on Hudson's one misfired pass. Rickman caught the pass and turned possession over to his team only to be countered back by one of Plaut's picks. The Bobcats will have to keep searching for a first win in their premier season following the 69-0 Feds' Victory.
The Wookies and the Sinners and the Saints met for game 3, and it looked as though The Sinners and the Saints were going to go home with a second consecutive win following an 0 and 3 start. But the Wookies had enough of being winless and scoreless, and late in the game scored 26 unanswered points to take the win away from the Sinners who were holding a 24-0 lead at the start of the fourth. Although it was a disappointing loss for one team, it was sheer excitement for the other. The Wookies had yet to see the scoreboard this season, and not only did they find it 4 times today, they also chalked up their first win ever in their 2 season CCFFL history. Sinner/Saint Quarterback, Zane Cole, made it seem like his team would be the victors completing 8 passes for 180 yards and 3 TDS. Cole hit receiver Austin Mathews for the games first score, and then found receiver Chris Fletcher for 2 more. Fletcher also completed a TD pass in the game to Mathews, and the team held a 24-0 lead through the 3rd quarter. Wookies Chris Whitcomb, and Jessie Carstairs turned things around for the mini Chewbaccas, each picking Cole off once. Wookie quarterback, Bryan Coffee threw for 106 yards and found Jesse Carstairs open for 2 TDS. Coffee also rushed for 100 yards in the game, and his teams 3rd TD. Coffee threw the touchdown that sealed the win with only seconds left in the game to receiver Matt Wilson. It was an exciting 26-24 finish for the Wookies.
And closing out week 6 were Scores and X Factor. Both teams were short a key player with Jacob Nordman of Scores absent and Ray Serrano of X Factor suspended. It was quite a defensive battle with both teams putting up a tough fight to the end. X Factor put the first 6 points on the board when Lee Robertson drove his team down field and hit Sergio Godoy for the score. But the lead was short lived as Scores' QB, Jeff Day, answered with a touchdown to receiver Anthony Powell. Before the half ended, both teams scored again. Godoy rushed in a TD for X Factor, and Day found tight end Eric Brown for Scores second score. The two teams were tied 14-14 at half time. After the half, both defenses held each other scoreless until late in the 4th quarter. Turnovers helped force the outcome of the game with Scores causing X Factor to lose possession 4 times with detrimental interceptions. X Factor drove the ball all the way down field each time, and were stopped short of scoring twice by Anthony Powell, and once by both Jeff Day and Nick Medina. The turnovers would not only stop X Factor from scoring, but also allow Day to score another 6 on another TD pass to Anthony Powell. It was a heartbreaking loss for X Factor who played tough until the end, but the four missed scoring opps allowed Scores the 20-14 victory.
Week 10 News
It's official after week 10, all 6 playoff teams are decided. But seeding still remains uncertain with one more week of regular season left. The Feds and Violators will face off in week 11 to determine who will finish third and who will finish 4th, while X Factor will seal a 5th place finish with a win. The Demons will have to beat the Sinners and the Saints and hope for an X Factor loss in order to move up from a 6th place finish to 5th, but all 4 teams have guaranteed themselves a first round playoff spot. The Blue Chips have locked the first place seed no matter what the outcome of their much anticipated game against Scores who have locked second, but although nothing would change in seeding after that game, a win for Scores will squash The Blue Chips bid to become only the second team in 15 seasons to finish a regular season undefeated. Although the Wookies, Sinners and Saints, and Bobcats will not be advancing to the playoffs, their seasons are not over yet, and a few things are at stake for them as well. The Sinners and Saints as well as the Wookies could finish out their seasons with a respectable 3 and 7 record with victories in week 11. Both teams will also help determine seeding of others pending the outcome of their games. The Bobcats have one last shot at a victory as they face the Sinners and Saints in the second leg of the Sinners double header day.
Winning week 10 games were The Violators, The Blue Chips, Scores, and the Demons. The Demons beat the Bobcats 45-0 with Josh Triner at quarterback. Triner threw 4 touchdowns in the game, 1 each to Chris Butler, Josh Beauchamp, Mike McDowell, and Matt Waugaman. Waugaman led the Demons defense with 7 tackles and an INT. The Blue Chips beat the Feds 26-15. Chips receiver, Adam Pruitt received two touchdowns from QB Bryan Tilton, while Maurice Townsell caught 1 TD from Tilton. Tilton also rushed in a score. Blue Chips defensive end Jason Hardin had 3 sacks in the game, while Logan Lord posted 3 tackles and an INT. Scores faced X Factor and took home a 36-6 victory. Scores QB Jeff Day favored receiver Jacob Nordman throwing him two TD passes and a total of 7 passes for 172 yards. Day also threw a touchdown pass to Eric Brown, and let running back Mikel Williams rush in a score. Williams rushed for 57 yards in the game and along with Day led Scores defense with 6 tackles and a deflection. Day had 3 tackles and 3 INTS. The Violators racked up another 62 points in their 62-0 shut out against the Wookies. Receiver/Safety Scott Witter led his team to victory with 5 catches for 178 yards and 4 touchdowns offensively and 2 tackles, a deflection, and 2 INTS defensively. Witter had help from his QB Alfredo Arechiga who had a great game throwing for 257 yards and 6 touchdowns.

IMPORTANT REMINDER REGARDING WEEK 10 AND PLAYOFFS, THE EJECTION LIST CARRIES OVER UNTIL THE END OF THE FULL SEASON. THE REFS HAVE BEEN VERY LENIENT DURING REGULAR SEASON, BUT WILL BE RUNNING A TIGHTER SHIP DURING THE PLAYOFFS AND CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. IF YOU ARE EJECTED IN WEEK 10 OR IN A PLAYOFF GAME, AND YOU ARE ON THE LIST ALREADY, YOU WILL BE SUSPENDED FROM THE FOLLOWING GAME. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS!!! REMEMBER THAT TACKLING, UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT, PUSHING OUT OF BOUNDS AND ANY FORM OF FIGHTING ARE AUTOMATIC EJECTIONS. THE LEAGUE WILL NOT OVERTURN A REF'S DECISION TO EJECT. ALSO PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT LEAGUE OFFICIALS WILL EJECT ANY PLAYER WHO COMMITS AN UNSPORTSMANLIKE ACT EVEN IF A REFEREE DOES NOT SEE IT, AND REFEREES CANNOT OVERTURN A LEAGUE OFFICIALS EJECTION. THIS IS YOUR WARNING!!! PLEASE KEEP IT CLEAN, THAT IS ALL WE ASK, AND YOU WONT HAVE A PROBLEM.
Remember, it's FLAG football.
And finally, one more warning before we enter this emotional part of the season. Flag guarding is at an all time high. The referees have been asked to crack down on flag guarding as they have been too lax in allowing it which has led to everybody now doing it. Because it's flag football, it is imperative that flag guarding gets called, after all, grabbing the ball carriers flag is the defenders only way to stop the play. Please note that the referees have been asked to be on a strict watch for flag guarding and penalize accordingly. It has become a bad habit that just about everyone is guilty of, and we are hoping to nip it next week so please be careful.
Week 11
Congratulations to the Blue Chips on finishing the season in first place, and UNDEFEATED. The Blue Chips finished out regular season against Scores, and following a 42-12 win became the second team in league history to go 10 and 0. Scores finished the season in second place with an 8 and 2 record losing only to the Blue Chips.
The Violators stole third place from the Feds after their 12-7 victory in week 11 against the Feds. The Violators finished 7 and 3, and bumped the Feds to 4th place with a 6 and 4 record.
X Factor took an automatic win from the Wookies as the Wookies showed up with only 5 players. X Factor secured their 5th place finish with the win.
The Demons beat the Sinners and the Saints and finished in 6th place with a 5 and 5 record.
And although the Bobcats were unable to end the season with a win, they played a great game against the Sinners and Saints, and lost by only 5 points with a 12-7 final. The Sinners ended their rookie season with an 8-2 record.
The playoffs start Sunday, June 4th where The Violators will face The Demons, and The Feds will face X Factor to determine who will play the waiting Scores and Blue Chips in Round 2 to decide who will move on to the Championship Game.
Thank you to The Sinners and Saints, Bobcats, and Wookies whose season's have now come to a close. We hope to see you back in the Fall. Good luck to all teams entering the playoffs.

Hey Tracey - cool post on stats. I
hate whiners! I prefer to have
stats that are pretty darn close, rather than have no stats at all.
Keeping and posting statistics are some of the things that make this
Carson league so unique, and I just treat them as an added bonus. If
my stats are a little off, none of my fans across the nation are going
to care. It really is not that big of a deal. As someone who has been
on the top of the leader board before, I don't care. I didn't care
then. The season I broke the tackle record, I wasn't counting tackles
each game and comparing them to the posted stats for accuracy. If it's
such a big deal to people's pride, teams can record their own stats,
start their own web site, and post their version of the stats there.
If people want more accurate stats, maybe we can up the league fees
and hire professional statisticians. Yeah, right! People need to
relax.
I think a great point is made - if you are trying to prove you are a
good player, you don't need to point to the stats. If you are a good
player, the people in this league will recognize it. We all know who
the good players are on each team. We know which players to prepare
for and to look out for.
By the way, can I have a few extra tackles? jk :) My teammates keep
getting all the tackles this year - those jerks! I guess that's what I
get for recruiting talent!!!

Hello my name is Bryan Tilton and I
play QB for the Blue Chips. I just
dont understand all the talk about stats, they are not that important. I
do not care about stats I just come out to have fun and to meet new people
and make new friends. I have already made two new buddies Joe Fattone and
Anthony Bass, they are two neat guys. I think its just fun to get out of
the house and run around, its a good change from playing World OF Warcraft on my
PC. I mean I missed last weeks game and I was just so disappointed to miss
my teams game. Anyways I think that Tracy and company are doing a great
job and that we are lucky to be able to participate in the great CCFFL.
Thanks to all.

PS Go Blue Chips!
Congratulations to the Blue Chips and Scores, Spring 2006 CCFFL Playoff winners.
The Blue Chips beat the Feds in round 2 of the playoffs to advance to the championship game, while Scores beat the Violators and will advance. This will be the Blue Chips and Scores 3rd consecutive championship game. With a win, the Blue Chips would not only make it a threepeat having won the last 2 championship games, but remain unbeaten since week 7 of the Fall 2005 season. The Blue Chips currently hold the record for consecutive wins with 16. On the other hand, if Scores can capture a victory, they will not only break the Blue Chips winning streak, but hold the record for most CCFFL championship victories with 5 as they currently tie Rip-N-Tear who also hold 4 titles.
Good luck to both teams!!!
And congratulations to Logan Lord, Blue Chips Tight End and Linebacker on winning the Spring 2006 MVP Award.
Once again as we wrap up the CCFFL's 15th season, we would like to thank everybody for it's success. We hope to see everyone back in the Fall. Fall opening day will be Saturday, September 9th. Please contact the league at the beginning of August if you are interested in playing in the Fall.
CONGRATULATIONS "AGAIN" TO...
THE BLUE CHIPS

The Blue Chips now hold 3 consecutive championship titles beating Scores in the championship game in Spring 2005, Fall 2005, and again in Spring 2006. The Blue Chips remain undefeated with a league record 17 consecutive wins. Congratulations to Bryan Buckner for winning Championship game MVP, Logan Lord for winning League MVP, and to the entire Blue Chips team on not only another championship finish, but an undefeated season as well.
