Opening Day Game Summaries

Game 1 - Stallions Vs. Rip-N-Tear Highlights

It was revenge for Rip-N-Tear after losing to The Stallions in Spring 2003's Championship Game.  Rip-N-Tear got their turn on opening day where this time they went home with a win.  Although the thrill of victory didn't match that of the Stallions Championship victory, an opening day win has thrills of it's own.   Both teams had many new faces on their rosters including Stallion's quarterback, Troy Fontana.  Fontana's debut was impressive but it was the nerves of the rookie that perhaps cost The Stallions the game.   Fontana brought his team into half time with a 12-6 lead throwing one touchdown to another rookie, receiver Karl Febel.   Febel went 92 yards for the score.  Fontana also rushed in a TD after an impressive drive down field.  But Rip-N-Tear's defense held The Stallions in the second half and didn't allow them any more points.  Rip-N-Tear safety, Paul Harting grabbed 4 tackles in the game while defensive end, Jose Iza had 3 tackles and 3 sacks.   Cornerback's Nigel Cockayne and Javier Vega led  the team to victory both returning INT's for touchdowns at the end of the fourth quarter.  Rip-N-Tear took the lead in the game by one point in the third quarter when Quarterback, Paul Harting hit one of his rookies, receiver, Jack Montgomery for a 17 yard score.  Javier Vega scored the conversion point giving Rip the lead.   But after that both defenses made it impossible for the other offense to score.  Stallions' defensive end, Quincy French had a great game grabbing 3 tackles, 3 sacks and a deflection while cornerback Larry Harper had 4 tackles, 1 sack and a deflection.  The Stallions had two shots at the end of the game to reclaim their lead after Fontana drove the ball down to scoring range.  But both drives ended in Rip-N-Tear scores instead, care of Cockayne and Vega's INT's.  Final score was Rip-N-Tear 27 to the Stallions 12.

Game 2 - Feds Vs. Regulators Highlights

The Regulators made their debut into the league a happy occasion when they defeated The Feds on opening day.  The Feds felt The Regulators presence right off the bat when on the game's opening play Regulator    quarterback, Will Franklin, hit rookie receiver, Kelly Anderson for a 79 yard touchdown.  Regulator runningback Mikel Williams scored the conversion point on a run.  The Feds answered the score with one of their own when Feds' quarterback, Shawn Hudson threw a 59 yard strike to receiver Gary Noah followed by a successful conversion point pass to  Ed Zinda which tied the game.   But the Regulators scored again twice before The Feds would see the scoreboard again.   Mikel Williams ran 58 yards for his team's second score while Aaron White recovered a fumble and took it in for the team's third score.  Tight end Ed Zinda brought the Fed's closer with a 46 yard touchdown reception but The Regulators pulled away again when Mikel Williams scored another rushing touchdown.  It looked bad for the Feds at half time down 27-14.  The team would resurface in the second half as their defense came alive.  Feds' runningback Jason Plaut ran in a 20 yard touchdown that put them down by only one TD.  But a controversial call on the ensuing Regulator drive would give The Regulators back a two TD lead.  Guard Joe Eckman was granted a fourth down touchdown after catching the ball in the endzone after it was deflected by one of his own teammates, Claude Walker.  What made the ruling incorrect was that guards are not eligible to catch the ball unless the ball is deflected by the defense, however, in this case the ball was deflected by the offense.  Though the call was incorrect, The Regulators benefited from the ref's error and the Feds would have to work fast if they were to recover from it.  The Feds quickly answered with a score to Gary Noah, this time Noah ran 58 yards for the TD but they were unsuccessful in the conversion attempt and down by 8 points.  The Regulators took possession with 1 minute and 56 seconds left and proceeded to run the ball and the clock out.  The Feds had a brief chance to get the ball back when Runningback Mikel Williams ran 36 yards and then fumbled, but in a close call for the team, Williams came up with the recovery and with only a minute to go they were able to run the clock out and take home a 34-26 victory.  Williams earned offensive player of the week for his awesome 7 runs for 120 yards and 2 Touchdowns.

Game 3 - Scores Vs. Regulators Highlights

The Regulators had the opening day double header and round two pitted them against Scores.  The game was a defensive battle and Scores won the war.  Determined not to let a new team go home undefeated, Scores captain Jeff Day set his defense up perfectly and shut down the tired Regulator team.  Scores cornerback Jacob Nordman wreaked havoc on The Regulators posting 3 tackles, 3 deflections, an interception and a fumble recovery, Nordman earned defensive player of the week for his efforts.  Nordman did not have to work alone though as all of his supporting defensive cast had multiple tackles including Victor McCombs who had 6 of his own.  Regulator brothers' Marcus and Aaron White led their team's defense posting 5 tackles each but it wasn't enough to stop Day and company from putting the needed points on the board.   Quarterback, Day, scored the only first half touchdown in the game with a 15 yard touchdown to tight end Eric Brown.  The Regulators took a lead in the game in the second half scoring for the first time when their quarterback, Will Franklin rushed in a TD.  The Regulators captured a one point lead after a successful conversion attempt.  But Scores defense was determined not to let that happen again after the offense quickly took back the lead on a Day to Nordman pass.  Scores scored a two point conversion and held tight to a 14-7 lead.  It was a bittersweet day for The Regulators, experiencing both the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat in the same day.  Scores went home 1 and 0 with a 14-7 win.

Week 2 Game Summaries

Scores and the Stallions kicked off week two and Scores wide receiver/cornerback Jacob Nordman dominated the game both defensively and offensively with a little help from his QB.  Nordman scored all but 1 of his team's 5 touchdowns and earned defensive player of the week (again) for his 2 tackles and 2 INT's, one of which he returned 78 yards for a score.   Offensively Nordman had help from his quarterback, Jeff Day.  Day earned offensive player of the week for his performance completing 11 passes for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Day also rushed in a touchdown.  The dynamic duo wreaked havoc on the defending champions.  Tight End Eric Brown helped Day mix it up catching 3 passes for 61 yards and setting up Day's touchdown run.  Score's linebacker Victor McCombs and defensive end Jason Silverhardt both helped the team hold The Stallions to only two scores.  McCombs had 6 tackles and Silverhardt had 3 tackles, 2 sacks and a fumble recovery.  The Stallions defense was unsuccessful stopping Scores from "scoring" but defensive end Quincy French did his best trying and never let up.  French had 2 tackles, 3 sacks and a deflection.  Offensively The Stallions scored twice, once in each half.  Karl Febel and Jason Jones each caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Troy Fontana.   The 36-12 Scores victory sent the team home undefeated while The Stallions remain winless.

In game two The Feds met Rip-N-Tear in an exciting and physical defensive struggle.  The two teams entered into the halftime break scoreless.  Both teams saw successful first half drives end within five yards from their endzones.  Rip-N-Tear cornerback Javier Vega led his team's defense with 8 tackles while Fed cornerback's Emil Lovec and Gary Noah led the Fed's defense to victory.  Lovec grabbed 4 tackles and had 3 deflections while Noah had 3 tackles, 2 deflections and  caught 2 INT's.  Offensively it wasn't until the second half that The Feds put some life into the scoreboard.  Receiver, Noah, caught 6 passes for 94 yards and receiver, Lovec, scored the team's two touchdowns and accumulated 78 yards.  Fed's quarterback, Shawn Hudson, threw for 182 yards and the two TD's.  Fed's runningback Jason Plaut had 4 carries in the game for 63 yards.  The Fed's clung tightly to their 14 point lead for the majority of the second half but Rip's offense put up a good fight at the end.  Quarterback Paul Harting threw for 188 yards and rushed for 93.  Harting found receiver  Jack Montgomery for his team's first score just following the two minute warning.  With only one and half minutes left in the game, The Feds had possession and Hudson tossed a pass to Lovec.  Lovec fumbled the football and gave Rip a last minute opportunity.   Harting capitalized and scored his team another touchdown, this time to receiver Javier Vega. Unsuccessful conversion attempts made Rip's efforts for not as The Feds went home the victors with a 14-12 final.

Week 3 Game Summaries

The Feds and Stallions kicked off week 3 with the defending champions' The Stallions, still trying to capture a win this season.  The Feds came out strong scoring a touchdown on their opening drive.  Quarterback Shawn Hudson hit receiver Emil Lovec for the score.  The Stallions didn't put up much of a fight in the first half allowing the Feds two Emil Lovec first half TD's and a 13-0 half time lead.  The Stallions however were successful running the ball with runningback Jason Jones.  Jones rushed 10 times for 84 yards but his team was unable to get anything going in the air as the quarterback only completed 5 of his 22 passing attempts.  Fed defender's Gary Noah, Chris Baredo, Emil Lovec and Ed Zinda were all partially responsible for The Stallions passing demise as each of them posted a deflection.  Zinda also had an INT and a sack in the game.   The Stallions put major pressure on Hudson sacking the QB 5 times.  Stallions defensive end Ronald Smith got credit for two of the sacks while Quincy French, Keith Stepko and Justin Bodine each had 1.  Despite the pressure quarterback,  Hudson, completed 50% of his passes for 202 yards and two TD's.  Stallion Troy Fontana brought his team back into the game when he stopped a Fed's drive with an INT that he returned 21 yards.  The Stallions capitalized on their ensuing drive and Fontana as quarterback rushed in for a score.  The Stallions successfully converted the extra point attempt and were only down by 1 TD.  But on The Feds next drive, runningback Jason Plaut rushed for a 16 yard TD and gave The Feds back a two TD lead.  Plaut had a great game rushing 7 times for 84 yards.  With only two minutes left in the game Stallion receiver Larry Harper caught a 19 yard touchdown pass and after a successful conversion the team was now only down by 5 points.  The Feds were stopped on their following drive and possession went back to the Stallions with only seconds left.  The Stallions were unable to boast a come from behind victory as Ed Zinda nabbed an INT and returned it for Fed's bragging rights which was followed by a successful 3 point conversion pass to Chris Barredo.  Ed Zinda had an exceptional game taking  home both the offensive and defensive player of the week titles.  Offensively Zinda had 6 receptions for 142 yards while defensively he had a sack, a deflection and the returned  INT for a score.  The Feds won the game 28-14.

It was an offensive battle to the finish in the week's closing game with Rip-N-Tear and the Regulators playing teeter totter throughout.  The Regulators scored the first 7 points right off the bat when runningback Mikel Williams ran 95 yards down the field for a score.  Rip quickly shook that off and scored one of their own TD's as quarterback Paul Harting led his team down field in the air and then rushed 34 yards into the endzone.  Both teams converted their extra point attempts and the game was tied in the first quarter 7-7.  The second quarter went the same,  The Regulators scored again, this time quarterback Will Franklin hit new pick up Jeremy Finn on a 41 yard strike, the conversion attempt was unsuccessful.  Rip answered the score with another one of their own, Harting threw a 70 yard bomb to receiver Jack Montgomery.  Rip-N-Tear did score their conversion attempt and went into half time with a 14-13 lead.  After the halftime break, the third quarter followed the same trend as the first two.  The Regulators took the lead back scoring on a 21 yard pass from Franklin to tight end Claude Walker.  Walker also scored a two point conversion and his team was now up 21-14.  Paul Harting quickly brought Rip back rushing for another touchdown and conversion point.  The two teams entered the fourth quarter tied 21-21.  Defensive highlights for Rip-N-Tear inlcuded an INT by corner Austin Mathews and 3 tackles each for Cliff Cuarisma and Nigel Cockayne.  The Regulators defense was led by safety Will Franklin who had 4 tackles and an INT and new pick up Casey Dowling had 8 tackles.  The fourth quarter looked like it was going to continue on the same path as it's predecessors.  The Regulators scored a TD late in the quarter again on a pass from Franklin to Walker.  But the extra point attempt was unsuccessful and time was running out in the game.  Rip had time to answer and if they did an extra point would give them the victory.  Again Harting drove the ball down field successfully but this time his final pass from the 16 yard line for the endzone would end at the one yard line.  Despite the 27-21 loss, Harting had a great game throwing for 271 yards and a TD and rushing for 60 yards and 2 TD's.  The Regulators win put them at a 2 and 1 record.

Week 4 Game Summaries

Coming into week 3 undefeated and with a double header was Scores.  Scores opened the day against Rip-N-Tear.  It looked like the undefeated team would remain that way after they quickly put two touchdowns on the board and held Rip to zero.  Quarterback Jeff Day rushed in the first score and for the second, Day threw a 28 yard TD pass to receiver Jacob Nordman.  But after a slow start, Rip-N-Tear quarterback, Paul Harting, put life into his side of the scoreboard connecting with receiver Austin Matthews for a score.  Harting rushed in a second touchdown and at half-time Rip was only down by 3 conversion points.  Turnovers perhaps decided the game with Harting throwing 4, an unusual event for the QB.  Scores cornerback Jacob Nordman  nabbed 3 of the 4 Harting INT's.  Nordman earned defensive player of the week for the third time for his 3 tackles, 1 deflection and the three picks.  Linebacker Victor McCombs caught the other interception.  Jeff Day scored a second rushing touchdown making the score 21-12 and Rip answered with a touchdown pass from Harting to Javier Vega, again Rip didn't convert and Scores held a 3 point lead.  Day and Nordman upped the lead to 11 scoring another touchdown on a 34 yard pass followed by a two point conversion reception by Eric Brown.  Rip-N-Tear scored again, this time Harting hit receiver Nigel Cockayne for a 27 yard TD.  Now only down by 5, Rip took possession again but with not much time remaining.  Harting began to drive down field but Nordman ended Rip's chances with an INT and sealed the deal returning it in for a Score's Score.  Harting and cornerback Rodney Mayers each had 5 tackles in the game but it wasn't enough to hold off the undefeated Scores team.  Scores went 3 and 0 following their 35-24 win against Rip-N-Tear.

Scores planned on doing it again in game two but The Feds had other plans for them.  The Feds came out strong and quickly put 8 points on the board when quarterback Shawn Hudson drove the team downfield on their opening drive and threw an 8 yard td pass to receiver Chris Barredo followed by a two point conversion pass caught by Emil Lovec.  Receiver, Lovec surfaced again in the first half catching a 43 yard touchdown pass.  The Feds defense took Scores offense by surprise not allowing them any scores in the first half.  Emil Lovec and Ed Zinda were all over the field defensively.  Lovec had 7 tackles, 1 deflection and an interception while Zinda had 6 tackles, a sack and an interception.  Scores came alive in the second half, coming out of the break and getting 6 points right off the bat on a 22 yard touchdown pass from QB Jeff Day to receiver Jacob Nordman.  Those six points were the only points The Feds allowed Scores in the game.  Scores defenders Eric Brown and Jeff Day both slowed The Feds down, Brown had 7 tackles and a sack and Day had 6 tackles.  Nordman caused a Feds turnover but Scores couldn't capitalize as Zinda's INT immiediatly followed.  Despite the defensive efforts of Scores, The Feds scored again, runningback Jason Plaut rushed 29 yards for the team's final 6.  Plaut was 8 carries for 76 yards.  Fed's quarterback Shawn Hudson earned offensive player of the week for completing 71.4 percent of his passes for 168 yards and 2 TD's.  The Feds sent Scores home with their first loss of the season.  The Feds 20-6 win over Scores put both teams tied at 3-1 in the season.

The Regulators and The Stallions closed the week's action with The Stallions still hoping to see their first victory.  Spring's defending champs did not see it this day as The Regulators had other plans.  The Regulator defense was brutal to The Stallions causing 3 interceptions, 6 deflections and 4 sacks along with several tackles.  Cornerback Marcus White caught two of the INT's and Will Franklin had 2 deflections, a tackle and the other pick.  The Regulator offense scored two touchdowns in the first half and two in the second.  Quarterback Will Franklin completed 50% of his passes for 184 yards and 2 TD's.  Franklin scored the first touchdown in the game rushing two yards for the score.   Runningback Mikel Williams scored twice in the game, once on a pass from Franklin and one he rushed in.  Despite Williams' TD's, The Stallions did a great job containing his normally very powerful rushing assault.  The back was held only 20 yards rushing.  Stallions' Quincy French and Chris Yocum were the primary factors stopping the rush, each posting 3 tackles.   Regulator receiver Kelly Anderson caught a touchdown pass in the game, Anderson was 3 for 61 yards.  The Stallions were unable to get anything going offensively although their defense came alive at the end of the game, it was too little too late.  Linebacker, Jason Jones caught an INT and returned it 31 yards but The Stallions offense could not capitalize.  In the absence of Stallion's quarteback Troy Montana, Bill Manzara stepped in.  Manzara was able to produce some success rushing with 2 attempts for 39 yards but his air attack was crippled by numerous receiver drops and The Regulators numerous deflections and brutal blitz.  Defensive End Joe Eckman had two sacks while Aaron White and Brandon McGrath had 1 sack each.   The Regulators 27-0 shut out victory put the team tied for 1st place at 3 and 1 and sent The Stallions home still seeking a win.

WEEK 6 GAME SUMMARIES

The Stallions opened up week 6 against Scores.  It looked as if The Stallions might see their first win as they had a 1 point lead at the half time break.  Scores, scored the first touchdown in the game as quarterback Jeff Day drove the team down field and then rushed in a 19 yard touchdown.  Scores did not convert the p.a.t., rather Stallion, Bill Manzara intercepted the point.  The Stallions took the first half lead when receiver, Chris Yocum, caught a touchdown pass from Bill Manzara and ran 62 yards for the score.  Manzara rushed in the conversion point.  The defenses both played well, and both quarterbacks had little time to throw the ball.  Scores defensive end Jason Silverhardt had three sacks and The Stallions rush came hard from Quincy French and Justin Bodine who each had three sacks.  Scores owned the second half of the game, Jeff Day and Jacob Nordman worked their magic on the field scoring two touchdowns in a row.  The Stallions successfully stopped Scores from converting any extra points but it didn't matter because Scores "D" only allowed The Stallions one more score.  Jason Jones caught a 19 yard touchdown pass from Manzara.  Scores brought their score to 20 with a safety.  Someone give The Stallions some Robotussin as they coughed up another win for Scores.  The Stallions remain in the playoff hunt despite their 0 and 6 record thanks to Rip-N-Tear's equally disappointing standings.  Scores goes 4 and 2 with this 20-13 victory.

The Regulators took on Rip-N-Tear in game two. Rip-N-Tear desperately needed a win but The Regulators had something else in store for the 1 and 4 team.  Rip-N-Tear looked unusually flat in the game and allowed the eight manned Regulators to score at will.  It didn't matter that their were only eight, quarterback, Will Franklin found all of his receivers and his running-back several times.  Franklin earned offensive player of the week for completing an awesome 83.3% of his passes for 225 yards and 4 touchdowns.  Franklin threw the game's first touchdown to receiver, Marcus White.  Rip answered White's touchdown. Quarterback Paul Harting hit Nigel Cockayne for the score.  But the Regulator defense kept them out of the end zone for the rest of the first half.  Offensively Franklin gave his team the first half lead when he hit tight end Claude Walker for a 24 yard score.  Regulators Joe Eckman and Mikel Williams put a heavy rush on Harting and turnovers perhaps cost Rip-N-Tear the game as Harting threw two that both led to Regulator scores.  Will Franklin caught one of the picks and Aaron White caught the other.  In the second half, Regulator Mikel Williams gave the team a bigger lead when he opened up the half rushing in a 54 yard touchdown (with a self proclaimed concussion to boot).  Rip-N-Tear came a little closer when Harting threw a 42 yard score to Austin Mathews.  But the Regulators scored again on a Franklin to White pass.  It looked like Rip-N-Tear receiver Jack Montgomery would go all the way, and he did, 59 yards for his teams third and final touchdown.  But Montgomery's effort wasn't enough as The Regulators were still not done.  Receiver Nate Nelson had a great game catching his teams final touchdown.  Nelson was 5 for 102 yards in the game and The Regulators beat Rip-N-Tear 34-20.  The Regulators moved into 1st place following the win.

Week 9 Game Summaries

The Regulators met Scores for game one of week 9.  A Scores victory would thrust them into first place, but the outcome came down to the final second, and it was the Regulators who came out the victor and clinched a first place finish.  It was head to head for the duration of the game.  Like we have seen so many times this season, the game took on a teeter-totter affect.  The Regulators scored the first seven points on the ground when quarterback, Will Franklin, rushed in a TD and running back, Mikel Williams, ran in the point after.  Scores answered with the first of several Jeff Day to Jacob Nordman touchdown passes.  Scores was unable to score on their conversion attempt, a point that would be a factor in the end.  The game was all offense as neither defense had any stand-out moments.  Both teams pretty well scored at will, each team scored three times in both halves. Score's cornerback, Dave Gutierrez and Regulator corner, Aaron White, each caused a turnover in the game, but their INT's balanced each other's out.  Williams rushed in his team's second score, but this time his p.a.t. attempt was unsuccessful. Jeff and Jacob struck again with a 41 yard touchdown, and then again, as they took a brief lead following a 2 point conversion.  Franklin launched his own 41 yard bomb next, hitting receiver Nate Nelson for the score.  A successful conversion point brought The Regulators the lead again with twenty points.  But, Day and Nordman could not be stopped, a 10 yard screen for a TD gave the team twenty points of their own, and the two teams went into the half time break tied.  Scores opened up the second half of the game with a successful drive that led to a touchdown.  Day looked the other way for this one and hit receiver George Garton for a 16 yard score.   Franklin immediately answered finding tight end Claude Walker for the tying TD.  Nate Nelson scored the conversion point that gave The Regulators a one-point lead.  The Regulators then changed the pattern, when on Score's ensuing drive they kept them out of the end zone.  When they got the ball back, The Regulators scored again.  Then, Day and Nordman surfaced again for another TD pass, but  no point after.  As the game clock ticked down, Mikel Williams and Jeff Day each rushed in another score.  Williams rushed 34 yards to give his team a 7 point lead.  Day rushed 17 yards for his TD and with second's left he had the opportunity to win the game as he opted to go for a two point conversion.  He was unsuccessful, and The Regulators walked away with a first place title and 39-38 win.

The Feds and Rip-N-Tear took the field for game two.  The Feds were hoping to bring a halt to their 2 game losing streak, banking on the fact that they had beat Rip-N-Tear in their first two meetings.  But Rip-N-Tear was hoping recent history would change.  The game started out almost a mirror image of game one, with Rip-N-Tear scoring first on a touchdown pass form QB Paul Harting to Randy Loff, followed by a TD from Fed's QB, Shawn Hudson to receiver Emil Lovec. Neither team converted their extra point attempts. The pattern continued as Rip scored again, this time Javier Vega rushed 26 yards for a score. On the Feds next drive, Hudson drove the ball down field and then rushed in a one yard touchdown. Again, neither team converted and the score was tied 12 all.  Rip-N-Tear took the lead going into half time as Vega caught a 64 yard strike from Harting.  Harting completed the p.a.t. to Nigel Cockayne.  The game was plagued with turnovers with each quarterback throwing an unusual three in the game.  Rodney Mayers, Javier Vega and Paul Harting all caught INT's for Rip-N-Tear and Jason Plaut, Emil Lovec and Gary Noah all caught picks for the Feds.  As the game went back and fourth with scores and picks, Rip-N-Tear began to take the edge.  Paul Harting earned offensive player of the week, as he not only upped his team's lead with a 22 yard rushing td, he followed it with a touchdown from a returned kick.  Defensive player of the week went to Jose Iza.  Iza kept massive pressure on Hudson all day and posted 5 sacks.  The Feds began a comeback effort and did a pretty good job as running back Jason Plaut rushed in a touchdown followed by a score from Gary Noah's INT.  Noah rushed 40 yards to return the pick for a score.  The Feds were unable to convert on any of their four touchdowns, but they still had a chance because they were down now by only nine.  But following Noah's score, they would not get another chance as the watchful eye of Paul Harting made sure the time would tick away.  Rip-N-Tear won, with a final score of 33-24.

PLAYOFF SUMMARIES

Finishing in first place this season was The Regulators, in game one of the playoffs they met the fourth place finishers, Rip-N-Tear.  The Regulators finished the season an impressive 8 and 2, while Rip-N-Tear barely made their way into the playoffs with a 4 and 6 record.  But today records didn't matter as Rip-N-Tear played the first place team as if they were unfazed by their record.  As we have seen so many times this season, the back and fourth theme carried on as The Regulators and Rip-N-Tear scored one right after the other, going into half time the two teams were tied.  After the break, the back and fourth scoring continued, but Rip-N-Tear pulled off a heart wrenching last SECOND victory.  With only 25 seconds left in the game, The Regulators scored, taking a two point lead.  Paul Harting stood in the endzone shaking his head not believing his team had given up the score on fourth down.  After the kickoff, Harting regained his composure and pulled off what some could conceive as the most impressive finish this league has ever seen.  With only fourteen seconds to work with, he threw a strike to receiver Nigel Cockayne, and Cockayne brought Rip to the 20 yard line.  The team had one shot at victory as now their were only 4 seconds left in the game.  Harting dropped back as if to throw, but seeing a hole decided to take the ground route instead, he ran twenty yards into the endzone dodging several Regulator bullets along the way.  Rip-N-Tear advances to the Championship game following their 42-38 playoff win.

Game two pitted the second place team, Scores, against the third place Confederates.  The two teams had met twice in the regular season and were split 1-1 between them.  But with a Championship game ahead, this game was the ultimate tie-breaker.  Scores came out with all guns loaded and it appeared that The Feds left their bullet proof vests at home.  At half time Scores held a 30-12 lead.  The Feds' defense could not contain Scores' Quarterback, Jeff Day, and receiver Jacob Nordman.  Day and Nordman continually put up points throughout the game at will.  Late in the game, The Feds were able to score a couple more, but Scores matched all of their efforts and then some.  It was a pathetic finish for the third place Feds as they watched Scores advance to the Championship Game after their  51-27 playoff victory.

Congratulations to Rip-N-Tear and Scores,  Fall 2003's Championship Game Teams!!!  Good Luck to both teams!
